Sergey Glazyev is a man living right in the eye of our current geopolitical and geo-economic hurricane. One of the most influential economists in the world, a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and a former adviser to the Kremlin from 2012 to 2019, for the past three years he has helmed Moscow’s uber strategic portfolio as Minister in Charge of Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasia Economic Union (EAEU).

Glazyev’s recent intellectual production has been nothing short of transformative, epitomized by his essay Sanctions and Sovereignty and an extensive discussion of the new, emerging geo-economic paradigm in an interview to a Russian business magazine. In another of his recent essays, Glazyev comments on how “I grew up in Zaporozhye, near which heavy fighting is now taking place in order to destroy the Ukrainian Nazis, who never existed in my small Motherland. I studied at a Ukrainian school and I know Ukrainian literature and language well, which from a scientific point of view is a dialect of Russian. I did not notice anything Russophobic in Ukrainian culture. In the 17 years of my life in Zaporozhye, I have never met a single Banderist.”  Glazyev was gracious to take some time from his packed schedule to provide detailed answers to a first series of questions in what we expect to become a running conversation, especially focused to the Global South. This is his first interview with a foreign publication since the start of Operation Z. Many thanks to Alexey Subottin for the Russian-English translation.

The Cradle: You are at the forefront of a game-changing geo-economic development: the design of a new monetary/financial system via an association between the EAEU and China, bypassing the U.S. dollar, with a draft soon to be concluded. Could you possibly advance some of the features of this system–which is certainly not a Bretton Woods III–but seems to be a clear alternative to the Washington consensus and very close to the necessities of the Global South?

Glazyev: In a bout of Russophobic hysteria, the ruling elite of the United States played its last “trump ace” in the hybrid war against Russia. Having “frozen” Russian foreign exchange reserves in custody accounts of western central banks, financial regulators of the U.S., EU, and the UK undermined the status of the dollar, euro, and pound as global reserve currencies. This step sharply accelerated the ongoing dismantling of the dollar-based economic world order. Over a decade ago, my colleagues at the Astana Economic Forum and I proposed to transition to a new global economic system based on a new synthetic trading currency based on an index of currencies of participating countries. Later, we proposed to expand the underlying currency basket by adding around twenty exchange-traded commodities. A monetary unit based on such an expanded basket was mathematically modelled and demonstrated a high degree of resilience and stability.

Η ΥΠΟΣΤΗΡΙΞΗ ΤΩΝ ΔΥΤΙΚΩΝ ΣΤΟΝ ΝΑΖΙΣΜΟ (1933-1940)

Η μαζική υποστήριξη των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών και των συμμάχων τους στους Ουκρανούς μπαντεριστές κατά της Ρωσίας είναι συγκρίσιμη με την υποστήριξη του ίδιου στρατοπέδου στις πρώτες μέρες της Χιτλερικής Γερμανίας ενάντια στην ΕΣΣΔ. Ας θυμηθούμε ότι απολύτως όλα τα δυτικά κράτη ανεξαιρέτως πίστευαν, κάποια στιγμή, ότι οι Ναζί ήταν η λύση για την οικονομική κρίση του 1929. Μόνο εκείνοι φαίνονταν να προσφέρουν μια αξιόπιστη εναλλακτική στον καπιταλισμό. Φυσικά, σχεδόν όλοι αυτοί οι άνθρωποι άλλαξαν γνώμη όταν ο ναζιστικός κίνδυνος στράφηκε εναντίον τους.

To Radio Liberty στο Μόναχο. Εκεί εργάζονταν ταυτόχρονα ο Στέπαν Μπαντέρα, ο ηγέτης των συνεργατών των Ουκρανών Ναζί και ο Σαΐντ Ραμαντάν, διάδοχος του Χασάν ελ Μπάνα επικεφαλής της Μουσουλμανικής Αδελφότητας.

 Για παράδειγμα, ας θυμηθούμε ότι ο Γάλλος υπουργός Εξωτερικών, Ζωρζ Μποννέ, μαγεμένος από την εβραϊκή πολιτική του Ράιχ, πρότεινε στον Γερμανό ομόλογό του, Joachim von Ribbentrop, να απελάσει Γάλλους, Πολωνούς και Γερμανούς Εβραίους σε μια μακρινή αποικία, στη Μαδαγασκάρη [1]. Ο ίδιος Georges Bonnet υπέγραψε, στις 6 Δεκεμβρίου 1938, με τον Joachim Ribbentrop, Υπουργό Εξωτερικών του Ράιχ, τη Γαλλο-Γερμανική Δέσμευση για Ειρηνική Συνεργασία.

 Ο Βρετανός πρωθυπουργός Neuville Chamberlain οργάνωσε τις Συμφωνίες του Μονάχου της 30ης Σεπτεμβρίου 1938 που εκκαθάρισαν την Τσεχοσλοβακία προς όφελος του Ράιχ [2], ενώ ο διοικητής της Τράπεζας της Αγγλίας, Montagu Norman, έκλεψε 27 τόνους τσεχοσλοβακικού χρυσού για να βοηθήσει στην ενίσχυση του Ναζιστικοί στρατοί [3].

 Ή πάλι ο Prescot Bush, πατέρας του προέδρου George H. Bush και παππούς του προέδρου George W. Bush, επένδυσε το 1940 στα εργοστάσια του στρατοπέδου φυλακισμένων του Άουσβιτς (το οποίο μετατράπηκε μόνο μετά το 1942 σε στρατόπεδο εξόντωσης) [4].

Μετά την πτώση του ναζισμού, αυτοί οι άνθρωποι δεν δικάστηκαν. Αντιθέτως, προσπάθησαν να τους ξαναενώσουν και να ξεχαστούν αυτά τα κακουργήματα. Ας προσέξουμε να μην επαναλάβουμε τα ίδια λάθη!

Ο πρόεδρος Αϊζενχάουερ δέχεται μια αντιπροσωπεία της Αδελφότητας των Αδελφών Μουσουλμάνων στον Λευκό Οίκο, 23 Σεπτεμβρίου 1953. Η τρομοκρατική οργάνωση διέθετε από τότε και στο εξής την υποστήριξη της CIA.

Κατά τη διάρκεια του Β’ Παγκοσμίου Πολέμου, ο θεωρητικός του ναζισμού Άλφρεντ Ρόζενμπεργκ και υπουργός για την Ανατολή (Ostminister) ανέθεσε στον Λετονό Γκέρχαρντ φον Μέντε την οργάνωση της προσχώρισης των λαών της ΕΣΣΔ στον Φύρερ Αδόλφο Χίτλερ. Με αυτόν τον τρόπο, φαντάστηκε ένα μοντέλο χειραγώγησης των μειονοτήτων το οποίο ανέλαβε, μετά την πτώση του Τρίτου Ράιχ, η CIA. Με τη βοήθεια του μεγάλου μουφτή της Ιερουσαλήμ, Αμίν αλ-Χουσεϊνί, ο Φον Μέντε ίδρυσε σχολεία για μουλάδες στο Γκέτινγκεν και τη Δρέσδη, διόρισε έναν μεγάλο μουφτή στην Κριμαία και στρατολόγησε ανατολικά συντάγματα SS. Ήταν επίσης ο αξιωματικός υπεύθυνος για τον Ουκρανό «εθνικιστή» Στέπαν Μπαντέρα.

Στην Ουάσιγκτον, οι πρόεδροι Τρούμαν και μετά ο Αϊζενχάουερ αποφάσισαν να εντείνουν τον ψυχολογικό πόλεμο εναντίον των Σοβιετικών. Η CIA δημιούργησε επομένως την AmComLib (Αμερικανική Επιτροπή για την Απελευθέρωση των Λαών της ΕΣΣΔ) που διαχειριζόταν το Radio Liberty από το Μόναχο. Ανακύκλωσε τον Γκέρχαρντ φον Μέντε. Αυτός ήταν που πρότεινε την ίδρυση ενός τζαμιού στο Μόναχο το οποίο, εντέλει, ανατέθηκε στον Said Ramadan (γαμπρό του ιδρυτή της Αδελφότητας Hassan el-Banna) [5]. Ήταν επίσης αυτός που έλυσε τα προβλήματα του Στέπαν Μπαντέρα και τον ανακύκλωσε στην MI6 και τη CIA [6].

Ο πρώην αναπληρωτής του Στέπαν Μπαντέρα και πρωθυπουργός της Ουκρανίας που επιβλήθηκε από τους Ναζί, Γιαροσλάβ Στέτσκο, ήταν κατόπιν εντολής του Τρίτου Ράιχ, ένας από τους ιδρυτές του Μπλοκ των Αντιμπολσεβίκων Εθνών (ΝΒΑ) κατά τη διάρκεια του Β’ Παγκοσμίου Πολέμου. Διαιώνισε το ΝΒΑ κατά τη διάρκεια του Ψυχρού Πολέμου, αυτή τη φορά για τις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες. Ως εκ τούτου, έγινε ένας από τους πυλώνες του Παγκόσμιου Αντικομμουνιστικού Συνδέσμου (WACL) που σχηματίστηκε από τη CIA [7].

Η έδρα του NBA εγκαταστάθηκε στο Μόναχο από όπου οι Stepan Bandera και Yaroslav Stetsko διευθύναν επιχειρήσεις δολιοφθοράς στην ΕΣΣΔ. Πρόεδρος του NBA είναι ο Δανός Ole Bjørn Kraft, πρώην πρόεδρος του Βορειοατλαντικού Συμβουλίου (της πολιτικής αρχής που διοικεί τις συμμαχικές δυνάμεις). Μερικές επεμβάσεις σχεδιάστηκαν σε συνεργασία με τη CIA και την MI6, δηλαδή υπό την επίβλεψη του Frank Wisner (παππούς εξ αγχιστείας του Nicolas Sarkozy) και του Kim Philby. Όμως ο τελευταίος πρόδωσε το Στέμμα και μετέδωσε πληροφορίες στην KGB που τiς έκανε να αποτύχουν [8].

Sergey Karaganov has served as a presidential advisor in the Kremlin both under Boris Yeltsin and Vladimir Putin. He is still considered close to Russia’s president and foreign minister Sergey Lavrov. His recent proposals on Russian-speaking minorities in the “near abroad” are known as “Putin doctrine” and Professor Karaganov, who is honorary chair of the Moscow think tank the Council for Foreign and Defense Policy, was first to come out publicly about an all-out invasion of Ukraine in 2019. President Putin has mentioned on Feb. 24 that Ukraine’s accession to NATO warrants Russia’s military intervention to prevent it. However, Ukraine didn’t even have a Membership Action Plan for NATO and Germany’s chancellor Olaf Scholz clearly stated accession was many, many years off.

How can an attack be justified on such grounds?

«For 25 years people like myself have said that NATO expansion would lead to war. Putin said several times that if it came to Ukraine becoming a member of NATO, there would be no Ukraine anymore. In Bucharest in 2008 there was a plan of quick accession of Ukraine and Georgia to NATO. It was blocked by the efforts of Germany and France, but since that time Ukraine has been integrated into NATO. It was pumped up by weaponry and its troops were trained by NATO, their army getting stronger and stronger day by day. In addition we saw a very rapid increase of neo-Nazi sentiment especially among the military, the society and the ruling elite. It was clear that Ukraine had become something like Germany around 1936-1937. The war was inevitable, they were a spearhead of NATO. We made the very hard decision to strike first, before the threat becomes deadlier».

But Ukraine was not about to become a member of NATO, not for at least many, many years. There was time to negotiate.

«We have heard all kinds of promises by Western leaders throughout these 30 years. But they lied to us or they forgot about their promises. We were told at the beginning that NATO would not expand».

Finally, here is the Confession of Faith, when she reproaches the soldiers for desecrating the banner, and does not renounce her father, as so many in Ukraine renounced their glorious ancestors. "My father beat the Nazis under this banner."

O Τιμοφέι Σεργκέιτσεφ αναφέρει τα εξής:

“Πέρυσι τον Απρίλιο έγραψα για το αναπόφευκτο της αποναζιστικοποίησης της Ουκρανίας. Ναζί, Μπαντέρα, η Ουκρανία ως εχθρός της Ρωσίας και εργαλείο της Δύσης για την καταστροφή μας. Σήμερα, το θέμα της αποναζιστικοποίησης έχει περάσει σε πρακτικό επίπεδο. Η αποναζιστικοποίηση είναι απαραίτητη όταν ένα σημαντικό μέρος του λαού -πιθανότατα η πλειοψηφία- έχει κατακτηθεί και παρασυρθεί από το ναζιστικό καθεστώς στην πολιτική του. Δηλαδή, όταν «ο λαός είναι καλός – η κυβέρνηση είναι κακή». Η αναγνώριση αυτού του γεγονότος είναι η βάση της πολιτικής αποναζιστικοποίησης και όλων των επακόλουθων μέτρων της. Οι Ναζί που πήραν τα όπλα πρέπει να καταστραφούν στο πεδίο της μάχης. Δεν θα πρέπει να γίνει σημαντική διάκριση μεταξύ του Ουκρανικού Στρατού (APU) και των λεγόμενων Εθνικών Ταγμάτων, καθώς και της Eδαφικής Άμυνας που ένωσε αυτούς τους δύο τύπους στρατιωτικών σχηματισμών.

Όλοι τους εμπλέκονται εξίσου στην ακραία σκληρότητα κατά του άμαχου πληθυσμού, είναι εξίσου ένοχοι για τη γενοκτονία του ρωσικού λαού, δεν συμμορφώνονται με τους νόμους και τα έθιμα του πολέμου. Οι εγκληματίες πολέμου και οι Ναζί θα πρέπει να τιμωρούνται παραδειγματικά και εκθετικά. Εκτός από την Διοίκηση, ένοχοι είναι και ένα σημαντικό μέρος των μαζών, που είναι παθητικοί ναζί, συνεργοί του ναζισμού. Υποστήριξαν και ενέδωσαν τη ναζιστική εξουσία.

“Επανεκπαίδευση του πληθυσμού”

Η δίκαιη τιμωρία αυτού του τμήματος του πληθυσμού είναι δυνατή. Η περαιτέρω αποναζιστικοποίηση αυτής της μάζας του πληθυσμού συνίσταται στην επανεκπαίδευση, η οποία επιτυγχάνεται με ιδεολογική καταστολή των ναζιστικών συμπεριφορών και αυστηρή λογοκρισία: Όχι μόνο στην πολιτική σφαίρα, αλλά και αναγκαστικά στη σφαίρα του πολιτισμού και της εκπαίδευσης. Μέσω του πολιτισμού και της εκπαίδευσης προετοιμάστηκε και πραγματοποιήθηκε ένας βαθύς μαζικός ναζισμός του πληθυσμού, εξασφαλισμένος με την υπόσχεση μερισμάτων από τη νίκη επί της Ρωσίας, τη ναζιστική προπαγάνδα, την εσωτερική βία και τον τρόμο, καθώς και ένα οκταετή πόλεμο με τον λαό του Ντονμπάς που επαναστάτησε ενάντια στον ουκρανικό ναζισμό. Η αποναζιστικοποίηση μπορεί να πραγματοποιηθεί μόνο από τον νικητή, πράγμα που συνεπάγεται (1) τον απόλυτο έλεγχο της διαδικασίας αποναζιστικοποίησης και (2) την εξουσία να διασφαλίζει τέτοιο έλεγχο. Από αυτή την άποψη, μια αποναζιστικοποιημένη χώρα δεν μπορεί να είναι κυρίαρχη. Η Ρωσία δεν μπορεί να προχωρήσει από μια φιλελεύθερη προσέγγιση όσον αφορά την αποναζιστικοποίηση.

Brexitology focused keenly on UK fish but fully ignored the EU´s gigantic gold reserves supposedly still vaulted in custody at the Bank of England. Adding insult to injury, a UK-EU no-deal financial services crash-out divorce went by almost unnoticed… not only without the bang of the still postponed “financial equivalence” protocol… but also without a mere whimper from specialized media and Remainers. Now, the Ukraine crisis with its new payment requirements for the badly needed Russian oil & gas…overlapping with essential yet unfinished Brexit business…will necessarily evolve into a vicious NATO internal gold war. Paraphrasing James Carville spiced with some traditional British flavour, “It´s the bloody gold, stupid”

Rule Britannia

As UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson would have it, the physical repatriation of the EU gold supposedly still vaulted in London would “mightily” affect the future of Europe with very deep, high-voltage political impact both sides of the English Channel. In this scenario No.10 Downing Street would easily negotiate the EU gold bullion availability only under specific Brexit conditions favourable to the UK. Actually, doing this could turn out to be absolutely necessary and should go far beyond the enormous intrinsic value of the EU gold supposedly still vaulted at the BoE. Let me explain.

NATO gold in London

Russia´s new rubbles or gold payment requirements for any of its goods or services will necessarily prompt a major gold war between the UK and the EU probably resulting in NATO´s first-ever internal head-on gloves-off confrontation. After WW2 the idea was to keep Europe´s gold bullion safely away from the former Soviet Union and Josef Stalin, just in case. So decades ago current EU member states deposited most of their gold in custody at the Bank of England (BoE) in London. Now, the UK will dare to weaponize the approval of EU gold repatriation requests and other gold-related issues as a very convincing bargaining tool for lots of still unfinished yet most important Brexit business. So,

(a) Whitehall could indefinitely delay the EU gold delivery unless Brexit pending issues are agreed in favour of the UK.

(b) Or, quite simply, the BoE would not ever return such EU gold supposedly kept in custody for the past decades because it has been partially or totally sold off or loaned out or compromised as explained below with former UK Prime Minister James Gordon Brown knowing about it all too well.

The Mother of European conflicts

If history is any guide, hostilities will explode the instant the EU member states individually or collectively rightfully demand a yet-non-existent fully independent world-class functionally detailed audit of the EU gold supposedly still in ´custody´ at the BoE. This should take plenty of time and is the perfect excuse for delaying the whole process always under the exclusive preview of London, not Brussels. Or unmanageable problems would arise as soon as EU nations require immediate repatriation of at least some of such ´theoretical´ bullion, most probably all of them at the same time in view of circumstances. Then, either (1) some gold could possibly slowly be returned here and there (albeit with great delay ) but only under very vague London terms and changing the unfinished Brexit aftermath to levels yet unheard of, or (2) no gold would be returned as it has been sold off or compromised in different ways as explained hereinafter. And the UK better not decide to pay Russia even with a single gold coin as the EU would rightly wonder who owns it.

BoE darkness

The London gold and silver markets have always been beyond “opaque” without any significant reporting of transactions or positions. No data has ever been offered either on commercial banks holding accounts at the BoE, or precise technical identification of gold custodies, let alone those belonging to EU members. As Venezuela knows all too well – and EU member states could be next — who may or may not be acknowledged as a valid claimee of anything vaulted in Threadneedle Street or whereabouts is an open subject left to the entire discretion of the Canary Wharf masters, not EU politicians. Same goes for the enormous unallocated gold and silver liabilities of the so-called ´bullion banks´… or any other pertinent data. 

The (bad) German experience

Very recently Germany had to wait 5 long years to forcefully and painfully repatriate only a portion of its gold from the BoE and never got back any of the gold bars originally deposited, which clearly explains the delay. So while the EU freezes to death and its economy stops dead in its tracks, the many pending questions include

(a) does the BoE still have all of the EU´s gold bullion… or has it been sold off or loaned out as many experts insist ?

1. The maternity hospital was occupied by the Armed Forces of Ukraine
2. The Armed Forces took away food from women.
3. There was no air raid (no one heard the planes), there was a shell.
4. She was specially filmed by different people, although she asked not to shoot her.
5. Operators appeared immediately. Filmed including a man from AP.
