Εντάξει, το να επιλέγουν να μην υιοθετήσουν ως νόμισμά τους το ευρώ η Βρετανία ή η Σουηδία και η Δανία, το καταλαβαίνει και το χωνεύει κάποιος. Το να μη θέλουν όμως να μπουν στην Ευρωζώνη «μπατίρηδες» του αλήστου μνήμης «υπαρκτού σοσιαλισμού», χώρες δηλαδή όπως η Πολωνία, η Ουγγαρία, η Τσεχία ή ακόμη και η Ρουμανία και η Βουλγαρία, αυτό συνιστά σίγουρα διασυρμό του ευρώ!

Αποδεικνύει επίσης εμπράκτως πόσο αντιπαθής έχει γίνει στα μάτια όχι μόνο των λαών της Ευρώπης, αλλά και των κυβερνήσεών τους ο πυρήνας της ευρωπαϊκής ολοκλήρωσης μετά το ξέσπασμα της οικονομικής κρίσης και κυρίως μετά τα δεινά και τον όλεθρο που σκόρπισε στις χώρες της Ευρωζώνης η «διάσωσή» τους, με τους βαρύτατους όρους υποτέλειας που τους επέβαλε η Γερμανία μέσω της ΕΕ και της ΕΚΤ. Αν δεν ήταν και τμήματα χωρών με ναζιστικό παρελθόν και συνεργασία με τους χιτλερικούς κατά τη διάρκεια του Β' Παγκοσμίου Πολέμου, όπως η Κροατία που από την 1η Ιουλίου θα είναι το 28ο μέλος της ΕΕ και η Λετονία που πιθανότατα από την 1 Ιανουαρίου του 2014 θα είναι το 18ο κράτος-μέλος της Ευρωζώνης, η διαδικασία ένταξης είτε στην ΕΕ, είτε στο ευρώ θα είχε ουσιαστικά σταματήσει ελλείψει υποψηφίων ενδιαφερόμενων χωρών. Το διασκεδαστικό μάλιστα είναι ότι ακόμη και οι πιο εξαθλιωμένες από τις πρώην χώρες-μέλη του Συμφώνου της Βαρσοβίας, του στρατιωτικού συνασπισμού κρατών υπό την ηγεσία της Σοβιετικής Ενωσης, πληρούν τα κριτήρια του Μάαστριχτ για ένταξη στο ευρώ πολύ καλύτερα από τη... Γερμανία ή τη Γαλλία!!!

Iran unveils ‘Epic’ new drone
Much has been said already of the vast US military drone program, but Iran has just unveiled the latest of its own autonomous aircraft in a bid to highlight recent advances in the drive to build its own drone fleet.

Designated as the Hemaseh in Farsi, meaning 'epic' in English, Iran’s latest reconnaissance-combat drone was unveiled on Thursday during a ceremony attended by Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi.

Brightly painted in the colors of Iran’s national flag and sporting what looked to be two dummy missiles under its wings, the domestically built drone is said to possess stealth capabilities that would allow it to evade enemy radar.

“This drone has been built by defense industry experts and is simultaneously capable of surveillance, reconnaissance and missile and rocket attacks,” Vahidi said during the unveiling.

“This aircraft with its stealth quality can avoid detection by the enemy,” he added.

In an earlier report produced by Iran’s official Fars News Agency (FNA) the country claims to be building “tens of different types” of unmanned aerial vehicles, and touts this latest model as the country’s most advanced. According to the FNA, 30 of a total of 40 types of drone models are already in the production phase.

On February 2, Iran also unveiled to much fanfare another domestically produced aircraft, that time a manned “stealth” jet named Qaher 313, at a ceremony presided over by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Analysts within the US were generally suspicious of the unusual-looking aircraft, suspecting that it was a mock-up model rather than a flight-worthy prototype.

Transdniestria has targeted the Eurasian integration

The Transdniestrian president has signed a decree approving a new foreign policy concept whose top priority was called a course for the Eurasian integration."The document fixes the country's foreign policy course determined by the people of TMR and reflects the national idea of Transdniestria ' the Eurasian integration. It is based on the Transdniestrians' will expressed in a referendum on 17 September 2006, when Transdniestria's citizens voted for independence and the subsequent rapprochement with Russia," said the press service of the TMR leader."The whole logic of Transdniestria historical development since the formation of the republic to the present day, suggests that we are an integral part of the Eurasian civilization space," said Shevchuk to journalists.The new concept adjusts the Transdniestrian foreign policy guidelines, highlights and for the first time clearly marks relations with Russia. This is followed by the development of Transdniestria's relations with Ukraine and Moldova. Next - strengthening of relations with Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Nagorno-Karabakh, and only thereafter - with other states and international organizations.

The Project 955 Borei nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine (SSBN) Yury Dolgoruky was commissioned into Russian Navy on Sunday, Dec 30, reported sources in defense industry."Signing of the acceptance certificate was preceded by successful completion of the closing phase of trials, including missiles' guidance command channel. The submarine-launched ballistic missile Bulava was commissioned along with the submarine. In the new year, Yury Dolgoruky will be in experimental service", the insider told Interfax.As for him, the acceptance certificate was signed at Sevmash shipyard on Sunday in the presence of deputy defense minister Yury Borisov, Russian Navy Commander-in-Chief Admiral Viktor Chirkov, president of United Shipbuilding Corporation Andrei Diachkov, and Director General of Sevmash shipyard Mikhail Budnichenko.Deputy defense minister Yury Borisov earlier told reporters that SSBN Yury Dolgoruky would be commissioned at the end of 2012. "I hope that on December 30 we'll take the sub in service. That would be a kind of a stocking-stuffer, I've already planned out my trip toSevmash", Borisov said then. He pointed out that all defects had been eliminated in accordance with the schedule, including problems of missile guidance channel.

In May 2007, secretary general of theCollective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Nikolai Bordyuzha invited Iran to join the alliance, stating that “the CSTO is an open organization. If Iran applies in accordance with our charter, we will consider the application.” Although the CSTO was already dealing with Tehranon several collective security tasks – including the fight against illicit drug trade in Central Asia – Iranian accession to the organization still did not take place, basically due to the ayatollahs’ opposition to join a military bloc clearly dominated by a traditionally rival power of Iran such as Russia.

Established on May 15, 1992, the CSTO is an intergovernmental military alliance aimed at ensuring security in the former Soviet space following the collapse of the USSR. As a Moscow-led military organization, the CSTO is often viewed as the natural successor of the Warsaw Pact, having also been described as the “NATO of the East.” Currently consisting of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan,Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, the CSTO is nevertheless dealing with the likely withdrawal of this latter, following Tashkent’s decision to suspend its participation to the organization in June 2012.

Israel’s thermal stealth innovator Eltics

Israel’s thermal stealth innovator Eltics unveiled today a short video depicting the results of recent tests where large thermal panels installed on a Land Rover Defender vehicle managed to eliminate the vehicle’s signature, totally masking the vehicle from the thermal sight’s display.

Following a recent investment refuelling the start-up company, Eltics embarked on the development and testing of a full scale prototype of the Black-Fox active – adaptive – multi-spectral stealth system, to be able to mask a complete vehicle (both sides, front and rear). The system employs a thermal camera that samples the background view and a system processor and controller that recreates the necessary effects on the panels, blending the protected object into the background.

Roger Wiens, principal investigator for the ChemCam instrument, reported results from ChemCam’s first experiment. ChemCam shot it’s laser on a rock named Coronation.

It’s spectrometers recorded data on 6144 channels, ranging from ultraviolet to infrared light from 240 to 850 nanometers.

You can see emission lines from different elements, including oxygen, silicon and sodium as well as some minor elements like titanium and manganese.

The eye-catching carbon peak comes not from the rock itself, but from the atmosphere of Mars.

Another peak, indicating hydrogen, was only seen on the first laser shot. This most likely means this element was present only on the very surface of the rock.

An anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) is a military quasiballistic missile system currently in developement, of medium or intermediate range, designed to hit a warship at sea. Because of speeds typically reaching Mach 10 there are currently no ship-board defense mechanisms that could counter an ASBM in the terminal phase.

ASBM are equipped with a conventional warhead large enough, together with the kinetic energy, that a single hit has the potential to cripple or outright destroy a supercarrier, but unlike nuclear weapons have to hit the target precisely to be effective. Thus, and unlike a typical ballistic missile, which follows a ballistic flightpath after the relatively brief initial powered phase of flight, an ASBM would require a precise and high-performance terminal guidance system.

China has developed and reached initial operating capability of a conventionally-armed high hypersonic land-based anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) based on the DF-21. This would be the world's first ASBM and the world's first weapons system capable of targeting a moving aircraft carrier strike group from long-range, land-based mobile launchers.
